چکیده
A simple and systematic approach to the design of neural networks for combinato rial op t imization is present ed in this paper. This approach is based on compe t it ion among the neurons of a network. Our approach relies on the use of simple heuristics in network design . The act ivat ion rul e govern ing neuron be havior is derived by breaking down the global constraints for a problem into local constraints for individual neurons. The local const rai nts can be expressed as simple heuristic rules for network design. Using this approach, high performance neural networks for optimiza t ion can be readil y designed and the global properties can be eas ily verified. Simulation results indicate that this approach can outpe rform some sequential heu ristic algorit hms and simulated annealing algorit hms.

SEISMIC DESIGN OF DOUBLE LAYER GRIDS BY NEURAL NETWORKS
The main contribution of the present paper is to train efficient neural networks for seismic design of double layer grids subject to multiple-earthquake loading. As the seismic analysis and design of such large scale structures require high computational efforts, employing neural network techniques substantially decreases the computational burden. Square-on-square double layer grids with the va...
متن کاملTHE USAGE OF ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORKS IN HYDRODYNAMIC ANALYSIS OF FLOATING OFFSHORE PLATFORMS
Floating offshore structures, particularly floating oil production, storage and offloading systems (FPSOs) are still in great demand, both in small and large reservoirs, for deployment in deep water. The prediction of such vessels’ responses to her environmental loading over her lifetime is now often undertaken using response-based design methodology, although the approach is still in its...
متن کاملطراحی یک مدل مبتنی بر شبکههای عصبی برای شناسایی و تجزیه و تحلیل الگوهای غیرطبیعی در نمودارهای کنترل فرآیند
Neural networks because of their abilities are used to patterns recognition. In statistical process control charts, a common cause variation distort expected form of unnatural patterns and so detection of assignable causes efficiently and precisely in a real-time is difficult. Therefore it would be logical to propose models based neural networks for recognition and analysis of patterns in proce...
متن کاملEstimation of Products Final Price Using Bayesian Analysis Generalized Poisson Model and Artificial Neural Networks
Estimating the final price of products is of great importance. For manufacturing companies proposing a final price is only possible after the design process over. These companies propose an approximate initial price of the required products to the customers for which some of time and money is required. Here using the existing data of already designed transformers and utilizing the bayesian anal...
متن کاملApplication of Artificial Neural Networks for Analysis of Flexible Pavements under Static Loading of Standard Axle
In this study, an artificial neural network was developed in order to analyze flexible pavement structure and determine its critical responses under the influence of standard axle loading. In doing so, more than 10000 four-layered flexible pavement sections composed of asphalt concrete layer, base layer, subbase layer, and subgrade soil were analyzed under the impact of standard axle loading. P...
متن کاملUsing the hybrid Taguchi experimental design method – TOPSIS to identify the most suitable artificial neural networks used in energy forecasting
The use of artificial neural networks (ANN) in forecasting has many applications. Appropriate design of ANN parameters enhances the performance and accuracy of neural network models. Most studies use a trial and error approach in setting the value of ANN parameters. Other methods used to determine the best structure of a neural network only use a single evaluation criterion to determine the ap...
